2004 - building Pjoa

When first model proved it’s value, then building a second one, but  7 times bigger  looked not so much complicated.

 It took 7 working days to prepare all infrastructures first.

The "shipyard" was from piece of polyethylene, spread among the trees with old garage as one side.

Squirrels were invited to inspect quality of my work if actually cats were not in charge  :).

I've started as soon as vaka sections where defined - in August 2003.

On cutoffs in sections from scrap material, were located stringers, then keel on top of them.

Keel was glued from 2 layers of pine, integral with bows.

 

There were hours of just watching with a beer in one hand and thinking what do do next and how to do.

 

As an example of how NOT, I present result of cutting ply too early -before glue has cured completely:

 

Sides  from persuaded ply (not tortured:) could form compound curves.

I've spent quite amount of time on traveling to the shipyard and backwards.
